METALLURGICAL GRADE SILICON CARBIDE

Washington Mills AS produces a silicon carbide grain manufactured specifically for use in the iron and steel industry. Our metallurgical grade silicon carbide is used in the foundry industry for the production of iron and steel. It is a prime source of silicon and carbon and imparts metallurgical benefits to the metal and enhances furnace lining life. It is also used in the production of cupola-briquettes for siliconizing and carbonizing of cast iron. The following data is a sampling of some of the standard metallurgical grade silicon carbide grains we offer. We offer other variations of sizes and chemistry; please contact us for more details.
